A family garden in Herne Hill.
Privacy, a safe outdoor space for young children and an interesting garden in which to grow flowers were on our clients’ wish list.
The garden slopes upwards away from the house so we created two distinct level areas: an enlarged terrace immediately behind the house and an upper level garden with a flight of stairs between. Softwood slatted fencing, white painted rendered walls and sandstone paving provided hard wearing surfaces with contrasting colours and textures.
In the upper garden the slatted fencing continued around the side and rear boundaries and the shed. A perfectly circular lawn formed the centrepiece, surround by lush, herbaceous planting.
