A roof garden near Tower Bridge.
A new penthouse constructed on top of a converted office building near the South Bank of the Thames has created an amazing place to live. The Penthouse is surrounded by a large area of flat roof which provides an incredible outdoor space.
As roof gardens can be windy places waist height slatted Ipe hardwood fencing has been used to filter the wind whilst maintaining the view and creating privacy. The fencing has been raised at the corners to create more shelter for seating and dining.
Planters have been installed along the narrow and more sheltered areas at each end of the roof to create green ‘gardens’. Bamboo, Viburnums, Panicum Virgatum and Miscanthus were all used to create a nice back drop which can all be heard rustling in the wind.
